THERE IS SO MUCH WORLD OUT THERE...BUT YOU LOVE THAT BOX..

From the beginning of my pole journey, I knew that I would be judged and ridiculed. Instead of letting it discourage me, I used it for fuel. Why do people love to stay in that box? I guess I am just different, I believe that life is too short and I have a limited time here on earth so....I am going to live!
I have always been a dancer. Throughout my school years I loved the freedom of expression through dance. As an adult I looked for that same expression, but after having two kids...I didn't believe I could find it. Then it hit me! pole dance! lol!
"I can be sexy, maintain integrity in myself, build my confidence, and get out that damn box!"
But wait........what will everyone think. Everyone around me lived in that box. Go to the gym, a few minutes on the treadmill, lift a few weights. done. I needed more.
I took my first couple of pole dance classes and fell in love. I wanted to share with everyone my new fitness regime, so what did i do? That's right, take to social media! I posted my first video on instagram, and everyone thought it was cute. All smiles, but not for long! I posted a pic of me, wearing shorts in a forearm stand. That is when I received my first negative comment....."your butt is out!" Yep, one of my good girlfriends ( at that time) wrote that for the world to see. It upset me so much that I stopped talking to her. Then, comments from my family. Nope, not my husband...( you would think so, right? ) my extended family. "Are you a stripper now? "This should be for home only." "You are a mother." "Be careful what you post, you could lose your corporate job." How does that box feel everyone?
Now all of those same people want to try my classes or have tried my classes! lol! Once you see someone breathing, you want out of that same box as well!
All women must come out of that box for air...at least once. not allowing men to control your sexuality, confidence or decisions. Be whoever the hell you want to be for 60 minutes. I live a life that I am so grateful for. This last year I have been exhaling, expressing and flapping my wings.....loving life outside the box!
Happy Holidays from me to you!
